Aayiram Vilakku – Movie Review

This film has to have a release during those times when violence-stricken Madurai films were hitting screens in a row! And, ‘Aayiram Vilakku’ also comes with a story with Madurai city in the backdrop and with those sickles and other deadly weapons to scare us!!

Shathanoo Bhagyaraj, after his romantic outings with ‘Sakkarakatti’ and ‘Kandaen’, is venturing into big action with this film, and when veteran actor Sathyaraj was beside him, the actor seemed had no hardships in portraying, and he does it with elan!

Lingam (Sathyaraj) is a dreadful don of Madurai city and this unseen tough man raises fear among big and small people alike, but Rathinam (Suman), another big shot, wants and expects an encounter with Lingam.

Gopal (Shanthanoo) is a poor and honest boy who works in a mill in the same city. He falls in love with Megha (Sana Khan).

Lingam, who wants to get reformed in life, happens to meet Gopal and shows all his care and love, but hiding his identity. Gopal also finds a big caring heart in Lingam and gets close in the life of Lingam.

The story takes a twist when Rathinam targets Gopal, and now Lingam, who wants to shun violence, has to take the weapon again for his loving companion Gopal! And, here Gopal also takes a big move for the sake of Lingam!

So, what happens in the life of Lingam and Gopal? Watch it on Silver screen!

Sathyaraj has again delivered a stunning performance with equal dose of action and emotion. Shanthanoo has also supported the movie with all his efforts to give the performances for those romance, action and emotional scenes.

Suman and Sana Khan do their part to their best!

After his debut movie ‘February 14’, this is director S P Hosimin’s next that he succeeds in delivering a neat entertainer with a mix of all the ingredients of a commercial cinema.

The film’s music is composed by Srikanth Deva and camera is handled by D. Kannan. Both have done their job perfectly for the story, but Kannan goes that extra length with his camera. Good work, Kannan! Editing is done by Sasikumar.

Vairamuthu has written all the songs of the film, which are already a hit in the media. ‘Madhura…’ song is the highlight of the music with its well written lyrics, superb composing and perfect visuals.

‘Aayiram Vilakku’ is produced by HMI Movies. The movie’s production was over and ready for release long time back – last year, but getting a release only now. But, yes, the movie has succeeded to impress the awaiting fans!

Watchable it for Sathyaraj and Shanthanoo!
